Sunday Funniescomic style

simple round cartoons, soft colour

Where it comes from: Newspaper strips, 1950s–1990s.

Warm thick-and-thin brush line, round-headed cartoon characters, blank or lightly sketched backgrounds, soft flat Sunday-page colour.

Start a comic, pick Sunday Funnies on the second step, and everything it draws holds the look: the cast, the places, every panel of every issue.
